How We Got Here

Philip Lochman & Company was established in 1933 in a small building on Wolfram Street in the City of Chicago.  In 1934, Philip searched for a permanent home for his new company and found it in Evanston, IL where we still operate today.  What originally started off as a major manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the graphic arts has transitioned to a thriving business service niche markets in the packaging industry.  Upon a visit overseas, third generation President Phillip Koser was introduced to an innovative sealing product line from Ballerstaedt & Co. that would make plastic containers leak/tamper proof.  Immediately, Phillip knew that their product would make an excellent addition to Philip Lochman & Company's offerings.  We installed their system at our plant and at that time were able to secure sole distributorship within the United States.  This product line has been used and sold by our company ever since.  After over 80 years in business and transitioning to our fourth generation family owner, Philip Lochman and Company is committed to continuing to bring clients the highest tier of personalized service and product lines to fill their sealing needs.  Our partnership with Ballerstaedt & Co. has a long rich history and together we continue to bring one of the top performing sealing products to the U.S. Market.
